In December 2005, Cara Wightman was appointed Youth Worker at Cathcart Baptist Church. The work led to contact with Cathcart Trinity Church and Cathcart United Free. All three churches were involved in holiday clubs in 2006 and 2007. Thus Cathcart Youth Ministry Partnership emerged.

Cathcart Youth Ministry Partnership is a registered charity which holds Scottish Charity Number SC039290. The partnership gained charitable status in February, 2008. The official launch of Radiate took place on 1st and 2nd March, 2008.
