Cara
was born in Edinburgh but grew up in a small fishing town and,
later, Glasgow.
She became a Christian when she was a child. As a young person Cara
toured with King's Kids, a ministry of Youth With a Mission (YWAM). She
later did a Discipleship Training School and courses in Principles in
Child and Youth Ministry and Early Childhood Education with YWAM. She
graduated from International Christian College (ICC) in 2003 with a BA in
Youth Work with Applied Theology. While at ICC, she was placed with
Kenmure Parish Church for work experience. She was a youth leader of a
pilot after-school care project called Y Generation. Cara
has been a group leader and an assistant team leader at Scripture Union
Camps.
In December 2005,
she was appointed as the Youth Worker at Cathcart Baptist Church. Her
job changed in December 2007 when she became the Youth Worker for
Cathcart Ministry Youth Partnership. Her husband Mark is from Leicester and he is a big support to
her.
